Biography: |
| In my grade school days, "art" was always a real treat on Friday afternoons after the last recess, but if the class had been mischievous that day, our art time was cancelled. And I grew up in a family of five chemical engineers. It's no wonder that my creative side was late blooming! (However when I was ten years old, I did manage to win a book about Elsa the lion in a colouring contest at the CNE which made me feel proud.) Throughout my professional career and raising children, I managed to squeeze in some art classes most years to keep the creative ember glowing. Now that I am retired, I want to create without bounds.
I have settled for now on painting in acrylics as my medium. I like acrylic paints because they are opaque, forgiving, thick and earthy. I choose subjects for my painting that have strong meaning for me - compositions that trigger a connection to a memorable scene, a place of enchantment, or an object of delight. The mountains, the trees, the birds, the ocean, the lakes, small towns are my subjects. I love each of my paintings! I hope you like them.
